Flexible Long Term MTB & eMTB Multi Day Coaching Programmes for all ages and abilities.

Welcome to the Sender Performance LTRD (LTAD) – Long Term Rider Development Coaching Programme.

Quite simply, our cutting-edge rider development programme invites you into a multi-day journey of progression, self-improvement, and discovery. It’s designed to be challenging and focused, yet genuinely fun — rewarding you with new confidence on the trails as we refine and dial in your skills and techniques.

While our programmes are based at Sender Bike Park, where we use specialist coaching equipment to break down complex skills with ease, we also travel to carefully chosen trail locations and larger bike parks to progressively increase complexity and “noise.”

This allows riders to test learning, skill retention, and real-world application in the right place at the right time — ensuring techniques developed in a controlled environment transfer effectively to natural trails and bigger mountain bike features and terrain.

Sender Bike Park is a unique, private MTB coaching area designed specifically to support progressive learning in small, achievable steps. The park features three MTB airbags, which help reduce risk while we explore correct body shape, timing, and movement in the air.

The airbags also allow us to experiment safely with how the bike reacts to different transition sizes and take-off shapes, accelerating learning and confidence. As skills develop, they provide a safe environment to unlock your own style and flow, including learning tricks such as MTB tail whips, t-bogs, and suicide no-handers — always with progression and safety at the forefront.

Complete Flexibility for Your Coaching Requirements | Scheduling

LTRD – Long-Term MTB and eMTB Rider Development Programmes work by choosing the number of sessions you’d like to commit to: 3, 6, or 9 sessions, delivered as half-day or full-day coaching.

The 6- and 9-session programmes begin with an introductory coaching session to establish our working relationship and confirm the programme is the right fit. Once this is agreed, the remaining balance can be paid in full On the 3-session programme, riders can also choose to pay by instalments, but we dive straight into the coaching schedule from the first session.

To book and use your sessions, we simply check the diary together and schedule dates that suit everyone involved. In the event of injury or another valid reason to pause the programme, any remaining sessions can be resumed when you’re ready. For the 6 and 9 session programmes, you have up to two years from booking to complete your sessions.

Ideally, sessions are spaced every 2–3 weeks to maintain rhythm, momentum, reinforce learning, and build consistently on skill retention and confidence gains.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I’ve just had 2 half day, one to one coaching sessions with Scott after a recommendation from a friend and now I couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s down to earth but professional, and is a brilliant teacher. I didn’t expect to cover so much ground in just two sessions but I’ve come away so much more confident and with masses of tips and techniques that I can’t wait to put onto practice on the trails, and on my driveway! I’ll definitely be back, thanks Scott.

And the park itself is so good. Everything you need to practice skills from the very small to the very big. It’s a great addition to Aviemore, and all hand built to a very high spec, so come support it. And bring your kids & mates!

Coaching is most effective when the coach–rider relationship is strong. That’s why our longer 6 and 9 session programmes only move beyond Session one once we’ve confirmed we work well together.

There’s no obligation to commit to the full programme until we’ve established a strong working relationship. This ensures the coaching partnership is right for you before making a longer-term commitment.

This coaching partnership is essential because transformational change takes time. Real improvement is a process that requires commitment, determination, and consistency. Setbacks and plateaus are a natural part of progression, and depending on age and experience, we may also need to rebuild a strong growth mindset — one that accepts learning isn’t always easy or linear.

We’ll establish clear outcomes and goals, but just as importantly, we’ll focus on enjoying the process. That way, when progress feels harder won, you stay motivated, resilient, and moving forward

Our LTRD (Long-Term Rider Development) programmes work best on a 1:1 coaching ratio. This allows us to maximise every minute of each session, focusing entirely on your performance and progression — with no distractions and no compromise. We get straight to work at your pace, tailored precisely to your goals.

1:1 coaching also makes scheduling far easier and more consistent. We’re not constrained by multiple diaries, and progression stays in sync — avoiding delays or disruption that can happen when one rider misses a session and falls behind the learning curve.

Our LTRD (Long-Term Rider Development) programmes can also work very well on a 1:2 coaching ratio for partners, friends, or family combinations (for example, parent and child), with minimal loss of focus on quality practice and personalised feedback. In family sessions, adults can help reinforce learning after each session, and we can also dive a little deeper into the understanding behind each skill to support long-term progression.

That said, working in pairs does carry a small risk of one rider progressing faster than the other. If one rider falls out of sync or behind the learning curve, a extra 1:1 catch-up session may be recommended to bring progression back into alignment. Overall it has the potential to be more disruptive / complicated.

The maximum ratio for LTRD group coaching is 1:4, but larger groups can introduce added complexity and potential disruption. The core aim of the programme is consistent progression — building on each previous session through reinforcement, checking skill retention, and then moving forward with progressively more challenging learning.

As group size increases, it becomes harder to keep everyone perfectly aligned in pace and progression. For the best results and most efficient development, smaller ratios allow for more focused coaching, better feedback, and smoother progression across sessions..

Should you choose a Half or Full Day Programmes?

The answer comes down to your time commitment and budget. We can make excellent progress in half-day MTB coaching sessions, especially when focusing on specific skills or working at the bike park. However, half-day sessions can make travel to locations away from the bike park more challenging — particularly within longer programmes of 6 or 9 sessions, where variety of terrain becomes more important.

That said, there are lots of outstanding natural trails close to Aviemore, so great trail-based coaching is still very achievable in a half day. The main limitation of shorter sessions is the time spent accessing the tops of trails, which reduces actual coaching and riding time. This is far less of an issue when riding eMTBs, where access time is much faster and more efficient.

In short: half days are brilliant for focused, efficient progress, while Full-day coaching programmes allow us to relax the pace and spend more time on each feature, giving space for deeper learning, repetition, and refinement. They also make it much easier to combine multiple locations in a single day — for example, mixing the pump track with natural trails, or pairing Sender Bike Park with alternative jump parks.

Ultimately, the choice is entirely yours — we’ll help you design the format that best fits your goals, time, and budget.
