Mountain Bike and EMTB Coaching in Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park Scotland
“Control the Mind, Body and Bike & Confidence will Flow!“

Design your own *Flexible Performance Pathway!

Welcome to the home of world-class, highly qualified Mountain Bike (MTB) and eMTB Coaching — Private sessions, Custom courses, and Masterclasses based at Sender Bike Park in Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park, Scotland.
The best coaching interventions take time. We all have different motivations, time constraints, and budgets, which shape our level of commitment and how we choose to train.
That’s why we’ve curated a simple, effective menu of coaching options to suit a range of goals and schedules. If none of these quite fit what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re happy to tailor something that works for you.

Mountain Bike Coaching Ratio’s: 1:1 Sessions are by far the best way to maximise personal time and make big gains. 1:2 is still an excellent ratio if riders are familiar with each other and at roughly the same skill level retaining plenty of top quality feedback. 1:3 or 4 starts to dilute the amount of repetition time and personal feedback that can be given, especially in a short class. We do not recommend coaching above 1:4 unless the riders are friends or family and accept that progression is likely to be slower.
On this page you will find detailed information on our Short and Long Term Coaching Programmes!

STRD – Short Term Rider Development for all MTB abilities
STRD – Short-Term Rider Development Coaching is ideal for Mountain bikers looking for short, intensive (Quick Fix) private or small-group MTB coaching to target and improve specific aspects of their riding. These focused coaching sessions are typically 1 to 3 hours and are usually delivered as a one-off interventions for fast, targeted progress. There is very little time for consolidation and reinforcement as this happens over a longer timeframe.
Our Masterclasses, Beginner, and Improver Coaching are designed with long-term progression in mind, allowing riders to return for further support as their skills develop. This flexible approach means you can dip in for focused help or build ongoing progression over time — whatever suits your goals.

Coaching Reviews
Booked an all day jump lesson with my mate. Both of us are 40 something and we were wanting to improve our skills for trail riding. It’s not until you get a bit older and realise it makes more sense to upgrade and improve yourself as the rider rather than your bike!
We had an absolutely fantastic day and learnt so much. It was a long day but the pace and instruction was ideal, Scott was mega and his skill and knowledge is immense.
Thank you for making me feel like a teenager on my mountain bike again!

Three of us (all 40+, 1 guy, two women, varying levels of chaos on bikes) rocked up to Sender Bike Park for a half day jump lesson — and somehow all left feeling like mini pros. Scott was brilliant: broke things down, kept it fun, and nudged us just far enough out of our comfort zones to actually learn something.
He even helped me tackle my gap jump phobia and got us onto the air bags — which, let’s be honest, I was very keen to try. 😄
Perfect mix of challenge, laughs, and “wait… did I actually just do that?!” moments. 10/10 recommend

The park is excellent with a range of features to practice a variety of skills in a small area, enabling quick progression and challenge. Scott with huge knowledge and experience provided excellent explanations, feedback and patience ! Well worth booking in to improve certain skills or confidence!

What to look for when choosing your MTB Coach!
Key elements:
1) Trust, Safety & a Strong Coach–Rider Relationship
Progress happens fastest when you feel safe and supported. A great coach builds trust, manages risk intelligently, and creates a positive environment where you can push your limits with confidence.
2) Clear Goals & Progressive Structure
Effective coaching sets clear, achievable goals and follows a structured progression — building strong foundations before moving into more advanced skills and complex terrain.
3) Quality Feedback & Deliberate Practice
Real improvement comes from focused repetition with timely, simple feedback. Skills should be practised in appropriate scenarios that gradually increase in complexity to transfer into real trail and bike park riding.
4) The Right Learning Environment
A controlled, purpose-built coaching space — like Sender Bike Park with MTB AirBags — dramatically accelerates learning by reducing distractions, managing risk, and allowing riders to focus fully on technique.

Highly Experienced and Qualified Coaches and Teachers have developed and refined these elements over a long time and have commited to continual personal development, review and reflection.
