With Performance Mountain Sports, the Local Experts!
Aviemore sits at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and is the ultimate base for a mountain bike adventure in the Scottish Highlands. From here we can easily access some of the best MTB riding in Scotland, including superb natural trails, big mountain singletrack, and world-class trail centres.

Aviemore benefits from the rain shadow of the surrounding mountains, meaning conditions are often better than forecast. From our base we can travel in any direction to find the best riding on the day. If the West Coast is wet, we simply head east and choose the best trails based on the latest weather forecasts. In Scotland, staying dynamic and flexible with your plans is the key to a great riding experience.
Our deep knowledge of the Scottish Highlands, built through decades of mountaineering, climbing, and MTB guiding, allows us to design truly unique adventure holidays. We can combine guided backcountry mountain biking, local natural trail riding, and even classic mountain scrambles and climbs on some of Scotland’s finest peaks.

Whether you’re looking for epic MTB guiding in Aviemore, big mountain adventures, or a unique outdoor holiday in the Cairngorms, we can help you create an unforgettable experience.

Torridon? Fisherfields? Cairngorms? Skye?
Scotland is one of the world’s last great places for true mountain bike adventure. Vast landscapes, ancient trails, and remote mountain passes combine to create some of the most spectacular backcountry MTB riding in Europe. From the rugged Torridon mountains to the high Cairngorm plateau, Scotland offers a unique mix of big mountain singletrack, wilderness exploration, and classic Highland scenery.
Some of the most iconic MTB backcountry rides in Scotland include the legendary trails of Torridon and the Isle of Skye, where technical Gabbro, Basalt or Sandstone singletrack winds through dramatic coastal mountains. Further north, remote journeys such as the Fisherfields Traverse, Glen Golly and the Bealach Horn, and the wild landscapes around Ben Hope deliver unforgettable riding through some of the most isolated terrain in the British Isles.

In the Cairngorms National Park, riders can experience classic Highland mountain biking on routes such as Beinn a’ Bhùird, the Round of the Northern Corries of Ben Macdui, and the high alpine feel of Sgòr Gaoith. These rides combine flowing estate tracks, rugged singletrack, and vast mountain views that stretch for miles across Scotland’s largest wilderness.
Further south, classic big-mountain routes like Glen Tilt, the dramatic Heartbreak Ridge at Ballater, and high Munro adventures around Ben Lawers offer epic descents and unforgettable Highland scenery. These rides showcase the diversity of Scottish mountain biking, from fast flowing trails to technical mountain descents
How about an Ebike Adventure in Assynt and a full Traverse of Queen of Scottish Mountains – Suilven?
