Unique Modular Masterclass MTB and EMTB Skills Coaching Programme at Sender Bike Park, Aviemore – Scotland

Join us on a journey of self-discovery and performance improvement. Our MTB Masterclasses sit at the cutting edge of Short-Term Rider Development, allowing you to dip in and out of sessions to suit your time, goals, and budget.

Each Masterclass builds an in-depth understanding of mountain bike physics and biomechanics, with a focus on movement, pressure control, and traction across a wide variety of MTB features and terrain. As your core bike-handling skills improve, confidence grows naturally. As the fundamentals become ingrained, a whole new world of riding opens up — you’ll start looking ahead instead of down, speed will come more easily, and the likelihood of crashes decreases.

Using our private MTB skills park with Airbags, alongside an exceptional network of local trails, pump tracks, jump lines, and trail centres around Aviemore, the Cairngorms and Highlands of Scotland, we hone in on the six cornerstones of performance:

Combine Top Level coaching experience and the highest qualifications in the country with a purpose-built learning environment, and you have the perfect platform to develop a strong growth mindset, progress with confidence, and thrive on your MTB journey.

Where do you start your Journey?

The Masterclass structure and pathway is simple and designed to build a strong foundation of riding skills that transfer directly to the trails. Riders can choose between half-day or full-day programmes if they link 2 Masterclasses, depending on their goals, time, and budget. We use the PECAM Model of Skills Acquisition to create our Learning Levels starting at L1 which is Processing – L2 is Emerging – L3 is Consolidating – L4 is Autonomous – L5 is Mastery.

The target coaching ratio is 1:4, with limited flexibility to accommodate additional riders when appropriate (no more than 1:6) — ensuring quality feedback, focused practice, and meaningful progression for everyone.

Whats on the Masterclass Menu?

Each Masterclass forms part of a progressive coaching programme, building skills and techniques logically so that when we take learning onto the trails, you arrive with the right level of knowledge and experience to control and neutralise terrain with confidence.

Booked an all day jump lesson with my mate. Both of us are 40 something and we were wanting to improve our skills for trail riding. It’s not until you get a bit older and realise it makes more sense to upgrade and improve yourself as the rider rather than your bike!

We had an absolutely fantastic day and learnt so much. It was a long day but the pace and instruction was ideal, Scott was mega and his skill and knowledge is immense.

Thank you for making me feel like a teenager on my mountain bike again!

Three of us (all 40+, 1 guy, two women, varying levels of chaos on bikes) rocked up to Sender Bike Park for a half day jump lesson — and somehow all left feeling like mini pros. Scott was brilliant: broke things down, kept it fun, and nudged us just far enough out of our comfort zones to actually learn something.

He even helped me tackle my gap jump phobia and got us onto the air bags — which, let’s be honest, I was very keen to try. 😄
Perfect mix of challenge, laughs, and “wait… did I actually just do that?!” moments. 10/10 recommend

The park is excellent with a range of features to practice a variety of skills in a small area, enabling quick progression and challenge. Scott with huge knowledge and experience provided excellent explanations, feedback and patience ! Well worth booking in to improve certain skills or confidence!

Why We’re the First Choice for Your MTB Coaching

With a Sport Psychology qualification “Psychological Self Management for Elite Performers” Scott can help you prepare, confront and overcome mental barriers.

At every stage, coaching is delivered at your ability level, with personalised feedback using a variety of methods. Teaching and coaching styles are adapted to keep sessions engaging and effective, while the learning environment remains supportive and non-intimidating — so you feel comfortable making the mistakes that are essential for real progress. Each class works as a team, and our goal is to empower you to assess and analyse your own performance, so over time you become more independent and self-coached.

To deliver the highest-quality courses, we also use a 2.5 K mobile timing system to gather valuable performance data on the trails and we have 3 AirBags signalling a commitment and drive to deliver the best MTB coaching in the Country.

Our MTB Masterclasses run for 3.5 hours. Riders can book onto mixed classes or arrange a private date for a specific Masterclass — ideal for groups of friends or women-only sessions. Masterclasses are scheduled so you can build a full day of personal development, with morning and afternoon sessions designed to work together.

Preparing for MIAS, MBC UK or British Cycling Course then we can help you with a Masterclass or Private Coaching.

Our MTB Masterclasses in Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park are designed to help riders and aspiring coaches prepare for leadership and coaching assessments such as MIAS, MBC UK, and British Cycling awards. By developing strong, reliable personal riding skills first, you arrive at assessment days calmer, more confident, and better prepared. This gives you the mental bandwidth to focus on the finer details of leadership, decision-making, communication, and risk management — rather than worrying about your own bike handling on technical terrain.

In our experience, many leadership and coaching awards do not provide the depth of riding-specific skill development needed to feel truly confident on demanding trails and in varied conditions. Our Masterclasses bridge that gap. Through structured MTB coaching, skills progression, and real-world trail application, you’ll build the technical foundations, consistency, and self-belief required to ride well under pressure. The result? Stronger assessments, smoother leadership delivery, and higher personal performance when it matters most

“Our Masterclasses for all ages and abilities provide you with a market-leading, cutting-edge programme for beginner and intermediate riders — start strong from day one or finally unlock proper technique, confidence, and control after years of riding. Bypass years of learning by trial and error and reduce your chances of crashing” Scott Muir
